[forward dated video + action] A New Year's Party
[Everyone's favorite NPC Vehicon pops up on the screen. Surprisingly Pinky is still around, he's just been trying not to get involved with everyone's craziness. He waves excited.]
Hey everyone! I just had a huge realization - it's been over a year since we had a party! The last time we had one was Drift and Rodimus' wedding. How crazy is that? And since I didn't get stranded on some tropical beach planet this year, I thought it would be fun to throw something together.
BUT since no one is getting married this time around, I figured it would be fun to try an Earth holiday! And right now it's what the humans call "New Year's Eve". Apparently they celebrate the end of one year and the start of a new one by having a party, getting really over charged, making out with someone you like, throwing bits of scrap everywhere, singing, dancing, and setting off explosions! I've got decorations and stuff set up on the Observation Deck, and have some energon, but feel free to bring anything else you want to add.
[Okay so his understanding of a New Year's party might not be 100% accurate, but he still tried his best. With that the video cuts.]
Pinky alone couldn't do up the Observation Deck as well as it had been for the wedding, but there were tables for drinks and snacks, chairs for relaxing, a nice open space for dancing, and the robot equivalent of a karaoke machine. He had managed to snag a huge disco ball to hang from the ceiling and get some nice lights to reflect off of it though. And yes, he had rigged it to explode open and spew what looked a lot like bits of tin foil at midnight.

From time to time, he works on his outline for the ship's official code of conduct. It's less work than is required for Terms of Peace, but the fact remains that the task is time-consuming. There is no better time for work than at a social gathering.]

[ though is he really? coming to a party and working hardly constitutes as coming at all. now Megatron knows full well the reason that Minimus is here at all: to observe behaviors and to ensure that things don't get out of hand. that's all well and fine.
honestly Megatron is here for similar reasons. mostly to make sure that some cars of his don't do anything foolish. like they are likely to do.
mostly Rodimus lbrdoesn't mean he can't spare some time for a friend. ]

For Megs, sometime later
Was this one of those "enlightened moments" that philosophers experienced? Is this what Dominus went through every deca-cycle? No, it doesn't feel good. It's kind of scary.
Still, to think that his dedication to his work finally paid off. It wasn't unhealthy, as some bots may have believed. This was good. He could be inspired to write more. See? Those tables, when viewed from a distance, are unevently spaced. It's easy to see how well the occupants are spaced out. The reflected lights could be dimmed. Why are they so bright?
It's getting a bit too much. He has to sit down or...or find someplace safe. A location or object that can stabilize him and calm him down.
Like Megatron.
He's standing right over there, watching...something. The party, yes. Minimus trusts Megatron. Just the sight of the silver mech assures his spark that circumstances will not spiral out of control. Magnus slowly walks over(he's not in a rush) and stands next to him. Quietly.
This is much better.]

[But Rumble wanted to come, and he was fairly certain Bee would want to check it out for at least a while, so he had found a seat at an empty table towards the back of the room. His long fingers drummed idly against the table as he watched other people enjoying the party. It had been... an odd year. He didn’t feel much closer to fixing the space bridge. It worked like a normal space bridge should now, sure, but he still couldn’t make it open to other dimensions. Even so, he felt less restless than he had before. Soundwave begrudgingly had to admit to himself that he was happier than he’d felt in a long time. Even as his optics lingered on Megatron’s silver frame for a moment longer than the other mechs in the room, he didn’t feel such a crushing weight on his spark. And he didn’t have to feel as disgusted with himself for said feeling.]
[Well. Even if it was small steps, it was still improvement, right? His gaze shifts, content with just watching everyone else for now. If it got much noisier he might leave, but this wasn’t terrible for now.]
no subject
[ of course Bee is here. with a drink. just for himself this time because he's never actually witnessed Soundwave consume anything. he is inviting himself to sit across from the plane, not that he thinks that he needs to ask permission at this point.
and mostly? Bee is just teasing. ]

later on, he'll be putting some of drift's edibles into his face, pushing the plate forward to anyone who isn't magnus that approaches:] You want some? They're good!
[later on, riptide managed to get drunk/high enough that finding some high tech weaponry in the armoury and switching them all to taking custom ammo... which is just handfuls of garbage he finds around the party! switching them to anything else will just be various levels of air blasting: these aren't actually made to be effective against cybertronians, fortunately.
maybe if you're unlucky you'll be the recipient of riptide launching the disco ball at you. how did he even get that? is it the same one that was hanging up? either way, it's rocketing at your face now!]

Magnus sits down. Perhaps he is too stressed about the party, seeing that all anyone has been doing is dance, eat snacks
though he does wish he had been offered one..., and carry around things. Yes, he had to give out reminders and critiqued the quality of the bar, but there was nothing about which he could be alarmed....Wait, why is Riptide picking up garbage? Is he cleaning up after the others?]

Somebody said PARTY]
Let's get this party started!
[Like Bumblebee was going to pass up the chance to go to a party once he heard the announcement. It took him a bit to find the observatory, but he eventually got there. He's totally going to be doing some dancing, and enjoying himself.
Eventually he'll settle down to refuel with cube or two and some of the energon snacks provided, while just watching the activities of the others at the party.]

Hey! [ He grins and waves. ] I like your moves!

Flashpoint (brackets or prose welcome)
What started as optic-popping moonshine has evolved over the years into some pretty decent high grade. She leaves a large cask of it on the table with the every appropriate "drink at your own risk" warning label. She's not taking responsibility for idiot drunks!
just the smart onesFor anyone who wants the really choice booze though, they're going to have to go to her personally. She can be seen pouring her own drink from a very large flask she returns to her personal storage, and from the looks of it, said drink is rich and strong.Flashpoint posts up near the edge of the dancefloor, leaning on a pillar with drink in hand.
"Where's the entertainment? People not drunk enough for the personal humiliation of karaoke yet?"
no subject
"Perhaps the hour in which people indulge in poor choices and humiliate themselves is not until the end of the party. What a pity."
He brings the drink to his lips, pouring a generous amount down his intake. It burns on its way down, causing Damus to wince and sputter slightly. Despite the power behind it, Damus doesn't hate it. It's a far better choice than what Pinky has chosen to provide.
"Did you bring this?"

"Drunk?" he sounds incredulous, "You guys can get drunk? How?"
That's what it reminded him of! He'd seen drunk humans before. Helped arrest a couple particularly rowdy ones in a mech suit once too.
But that was humans. As far as he knows robots can't GET drunk. And why would you even want to? Like okay sometimes it was funny to watch people stumble around but why would you want to do that to yourself?

Drift (brackets or prose welcome)
"Just a little further...."
Later, after having some of the high grade--but not too much, he's careful these days--Drift can be found out on the dance floor, moving lithely to the music, swaying with a soft smile on his face and trying to encourage anyone who is brave enough to make eye contact for more than a moment to come out and join him.
"Come on now, it's a good way to loosen up, literally and figuratively!"
no subject
...Oh for the love of Prion.
"Drift!" she practically shrieked, "You get off of that death trap this instant!"

He grins, an idea hitting him. Well... there is that thing he's been saving for a special occasion.
He finishes the cube he's been nursing, slams it on a table, and saunters over to the karaoke machine and picks up the mic. ]
Attention nerds!
[ Luckily for everyone it doesn't seem that using the machine for it's intended purpose is part of his plot. ]
I think we need to make things a little more.... interesting this evening. I'm talking about a contest. [ He gestures to the dance floor. ] Dance off time, losers. Yours truly is the judge. And a contest isn't anything without a prize. I have, in a secure location so don't even THINK about ditching the party to toss my room, a bottle of the HIGHEST of grades I've found. I'm talking about a bottle of fine scrap, pre war, from the now obliterated but legendary Crystal Vine Distillery of Vos. It is SO expensive.
[ He does on occasion find good things when snooping around in the abandoned rooms of former crew mates. ]
And SO yours if your moves our the best. Get to it pinheads, who's first?
no subject
[ Because like hell is Flashpoint competing, but she'll definitely professionally ogle anyone who is and provide opinions. She saunters up with a half full drink in her hand. ]

...SNACKS OF DOOM. Seriously he didn't even have to run any detailed scans for his HUD to to be littered in so many alerts it was almost impairing his vision.
Clearly this wasn't the case for everyone. There were plenty of bots eating them. Everyone except him it seemed! He turns his annoyed gaze from the party goers having fun back down to the treats. Never has one person looked so angry staring at what is probably incredibly delicious.
He sinks dramatically into a crouch so his eyes are level with the table. As if glaring at them CLOSER will make them more edible for him or something. ]
Ugh... this super blows. Why is life so unfair?

Morning After
Luckily for you someone more responsible then yourself dragged your undeserving aft away and deposited you in the medibay.
Unluckily for you it's probably WAY too early in the morning for someone to be jabbing you with a medical scanner perhaps a little more aggressively then strictly necessary. ]
Fragging idiot... Are you dead?! This says you're not but you're doing a damn good impression.
[ She prods the prone figure again. She is not being especially quiet either. ]

Can you just... let me die? I'm ready. I'm ready for Primus to take me.

Sure, he probably shouldn't be feeding the creature things that will get it drunk, but the ugly thing tends to have an extreme amount of energy. Mostly nervous energy. He thinks that it might do it some good to relax it a little.
The dog was already staring to lean slightly to a side as it sits, it's bundle of hideous tongues hanging from the maw of a mouth it has. Its tail is wagging like crazy though, and as it finishes each scrap it sniffs the ground for several moments later, searching for any more that it might have missed. They it just starts licking the floor, then the side of a chair.
It's not really that bright.
no subject
She rolls up to the table and sets a drink in front of him because she just has a feeling he's not fueling properly here. She's comment but something grabs her attention first.
"Is your, uh, dog... drunk?"
